Prague tour guide course

This retraining course will introduce you in detail to the golden metropolis of Prague, and as a guide, you will discover all the beauties of guiding in this picturesque city of a hundred spires on the Vltava River.

The primary goal of the course is to enhance the professional skills of actively working tour guides and deepen their knowledge of the Prague region. The course includes detailed planning of guided tours and tourist routes. Upon successful completion of the "Guide to Prague" exam (65-028-N), you will receive a certification for guiding activities as a Guide to Prague. This qualification allows you to obtain a Czech national tour guide card at the second level.

Exam Fees:

  • 2,000 CZK- 1st exam
  • 2,000 CZK: 2nd atempt
  • 4,500 CZK: Self-study option

Requalification courses can be reimbursed by the Labour Office. We collaborate with Labour Offices throughout the Czech Republic. Jobseekers registered with the Labour Office have the opportunity to apply to their specific office for reimbursement of the requalification course.

Course Content: The goal of the course is to provide students with extensive information about the touristy and attractive city of Prague, from detailed historical topics to current cultural and recreational offerings. The course also includes an analysis of common mistakes made by guides when planning tourist routes, aiming to optimize the organization of tours. Students will be familiarized with the potential and opportunities in the region and learn practical solutions for conducting excursions.

Exam: The exam is designed based on the National Qualification Framework standards and is conducted according to the qualification standard. It consists of a professional part - specialization (test, practical, and oral exam) and a language part (language of your choice). If the course participant has a language proficiency level corresponding to the European standards B2 or higher, they are exempt from the language exam. If the participant does not have proof of passing the language proficiency test, they will take the language exam according to the rules. The exam is approved by the Ministry for Regional Development of the Czech Republic. The authorized person to conduct the professional qualification exam in tourism is Mgr. Ilja Kocian (an employee of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic).
